The Many Accomplishments of Gideon Juan Soto
Age 6 months 3 weeks
For those of you who are just dying to know what Gideon the first has been up to these last couple of months, let me fill you in. Since getting to the ripe age of 6 months, he has started eating food off of an actual spoon. Food that I am preparing for him. So far he has eaten pureed apples, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, regular squash, and papaya.
Another new and exciting development, Gideon has a new tooth! A tooth on his bottom gums. A single adorable tooth. A very sharp tooth. A tooth he likes to bite Mama with. We tried to take a picture of it, but that darn tongue keeps getting in the way. And there is much saliva.
Gideon is also sitting up almost on his own. He is getting very good at holding himself up, and he can totally sit up unassisted when he is leaning against pillows. Like so:
He can also hold himself up on his forearms, and he rocks back and forth, which I am told is the first sign of wanting to crawl. However, we think that he can be a bit lazy, since sometimes he just ends up just taking a nap on the carpet.
But one of the most enjoyable developments is the constant babbling. He likes to talk. He can say Dada, and Daddy. Also Ahhhhh and Ohhhhh. Here he is saying hello to you. And almost falling.
